Migration from Shell Recharge Solutions to 50five: charging stations migrate, cards remain with Shell

Over the past few months, Shell Recharge Solutions (SRS) charging stations have been successfully migrated to 50five.

We understand that this change may raise questions, especially for customers used to having both their charging station and charging card managed by Shell Recharge Solutions.

In the new setup, however, an important distinction applies: the migration concerns charging stations only. Shell Recharge and Shell cards remain fully managed by Shell.

Why this distinction?

Charging stations and charging cards are two separate products, each with its own platform, support, and back office. During the migration, the technical and administrative responsibility for the charging stations was transferred to 50five. This means that you can contact us for any questions about your station or the management of your charging sessions.

Charging cards, on the other hand, remain managed by Shell. This means that everything related to your card – subscription details, transactions at public chargers, blocks, rates, or new card requests – still falls under Shell’s management.

Understandable confusion

Before the migration, Shell Recharge managed both stations and cards, so some confusion is natural. With two parties involved, it’s even more important to know quickly who to contact.

Important: always check if your card is active
If your charging station does not accept your Shell card, first check in the Shell app whether your card is active. An inactive card cannot be used, either on your own station or at public chargers. This prevents unnecessary fault reports and ensures you can start charging quickly.

Who to contact for which support?

For your charging station (now with 50five):

  • Malfunctions or technical issues with your station

  • Access to your personal charging session data

  • Changes to settings, such as user management

  • Questions about installation, maintenance, or billing of your station

  • Setting up reimbursement (HCC) for home charging rates (€/kWh)

Do you have a question regarding your 50five charging point? If so, please contact us via the following page: 50five customer service United Kingdom.

For your Shell Recharge card (remains with Shell):

  • Questions about usage at public chargers

  • Access to your card’s transaction history

  • Requests for new or replacement cards

  • Public (roaming) rates and subscription information

Do you have a question regarding your Shell charging card? If so, please contact Shell via the following page: Shell: contact page United Kingdom.

Our goal: fast and accurate support

By clarifying this distinction, we ensure you always receive the right support as quickly as possible. If you’re unsure where your question belongs, our support team is happy to help.
