Case Study - Ideal Logic boiler

As a young homeowner, Tee was unaware of when the boiler in his house was originally fitted and when it had been last serviced. Just before Christmas 2018, the boiler began to present problems, which wouldn’t be an easy fix.   

The boiler

Soon into the New Year, the boiler began to turn itself off – leaving Tee and his young family with no hot water or heating.   

Needing a fast and affordable solution, Tee began researching various boilers and installation companies. Finding local provider 50five, he could see they provided top of the range boilers and advice on which would be the best fit for his home.

The experience

Tee explains: "I instantly felt at ease, speaking to 50five – they asked all about our house and what boiler we currently had, before telling me the best options available and surprised me when I was told they would also a brand-new thermostat for free, which I could also upgrade for a little bit extra to a smart thermostat.”

Within 10 days of contacting 50five, an installation date had been agreed; and an Ideal Logic and a Nest Learning Thermostat were installed. “As soon as the boiler had been installed, we could feel a difference – the house is now warm all over, we can keep the doors open and don’t need to use a portable heater to keep warm in the evenings,” he continued.   

Living in an older home, the energy efficiency rating is lower – which wasn’t helped by having an older boiler. With the new Ideal Logic boiler, Tee has more control over the temperature of the water and radiators. Plus, with the Nest Learning Thermostat, the motion sensor detects if anyone is home, when the temperature is low and determines the best heating schedule.   

Tee went on to say “I can already see our energy bill has dropped since 50five installed the new boiler. It took us a while to start looking for a new boiler, as we didn’t think we would be able to afford one. 50five gave us an affordable finance option, giving us a huge peace of mind.
