Please note: the 50five card/fob has a one-time fee of £9.00 incl. VAT (charging card/fob and shipping) and a monthly charging card subscription of £3.00 incl. VAT for both home and public charging. After submitting your request, it will be processed and the costs will be included on the next subscription invoice.

How does charging with our charging card or fob work?

To explain how charging with our charging card works, we have outlined three scenarios.

Within your own charging network

Would you like to charge at home or at your workplace, where a charging station from 50five has also been installed? When charging at home, you simply pay your standard electricity rate with no additional costs. For workplace charging, the costs are determined by your employer. Roaming does not need to be activated for this. In this situation, your charging costs consist of:

Your own kWh electricity rate and, if applicable, an hourly rate
A one-time activation fee.

Within the 50five charging network

Would you like to charge at one of our connected public charging points in the UK or within our extensive European roaming network? In that case, you pay the standard electricity rate, including roaming costs. Roaming must be activated. Download our new 50five e-mobility app to view the applicable tariffs for each charging point.

The costs outside your network are structured as follows:

A start fee per charging session
A surcharge on the applicable kWh rate of the public charging station
A montly MSP subscription

Outside the 50five charging network

With the 50five charge card and tag, our eMSP (e-Mobility Service Provider) service, you receive one simple monthly invoice with a clear overview of all your charging sessions.
You benefit from access to a broad and continuously expanding charging network across the United Kingdom, made possible through strong roaming partnerships. This ensures reliable access to public charging infrastructure wherever your journey takes you.

In addition, our extensive UK and European roaming network enables seamless charging when travelling abroad, offering wide coverage across most EU countries.

Thanks to our new 50five e-mobility app, you can easily view the applicable tariffs for each charging point. Our app is available as a free download for Apple (iOS) and Android.

More about our 50five e-mobility app

(e)MSP stands for e-Mobility Service Provider. These are providers of charging cards and apps, and they facilitate the registration and payment of charging sessions. Through an app, you can view the costs incurred and gain insight into your energy consumption. Together with a CPO service, an eMSP can also ensure that only the employer’s charging stations can be used.
